Ready to race?
Heres a few things that you will need:
DBMX race in the Midlands Region. There are five other regions, Scotland, North, East, South and South West.
Racing is now timed via Transponders. MyLaps ProChips are used.
A British Cycling Race License will need to be purchased. The first year can be free.
Links to all of the above can be found on our LINKS page.
Race plates are mandatory when racing but be sure to get the right ones.
Your race number is the last 3 digits of your British Cycling race license number. The only exception to this is if you've earned a National, European, World number by competing at these events, or if you've won the British Championships.
Yellow background with Black numbers = Boys/Men
Blue background with White numbers = Girls/Women
Red Background with White numbers = Cruisers
Side plates are also mandatory and should be a white background with black numbers.
The small white square should contain your age group that you are competing in. This is the age of your birthday within that race year, which is a full calendar year, 1st January to 31st December. e.g. You turn 12 in June, you are in race category 12 for the whole year.
Having your name on, and the design are all down to personal choice and non-mandatory elements.
We have a club design (below) with Moto1 where you can buy the Moto1 plate, the sticker, and the side plates all for £30 posted to your door. The design can also be produced as a sticker only to fit other plate manufacturers for £14. Click here or the Moto1 logo below to visit the site.
